Description

The Department of Psychiatry is seeking to hire a full-time Academic Payroll Supervisor to join the Academic Payroll Office with our Semel Institute. You will work with the team to maximize the efficiency of the Academic Payroll Office. Primary duties include:

  • Serve as primary resource for payroll policies and collective bargaining agreements
  • Supervise and train professional and skilled technical employees
  • Analyze and resolve payroll issues
  • Interpret policies (e.g. fiscal management, HR, contract/grants, resource management)
  • Processing all payroll and salary transactions including any payroll adjustments in UCPath
  • Maintaining accurate records and monitoring salary and benefit related data
  • Performing other routine payroll transactions

  • Salary range: $64,800/yr-$137,600/yr
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in business related field (preferred)

Leadership experience with the ability to mentor, coach, and oversee staff

Experience working with payroll and financial systems in a hospital setting (preferred)

Knowledge of UCPath functions (preferred)

Ability to manage a complex set of tasks in a high-profile setting

Demonstrated knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and their practical applications in fund accounting and accrual and deferral

Knowledge of UC policies, procedures, and salary administration

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and payroll reporting software

Strong communication, analytical, multitasking, and problem-solving skills
