POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for training, coordinating, and managing the operations of and personnel responsible for equipment rentals and repairs. Seasonal rentals and repairs include ski/snowboard equipment in the winter and bikes in the summer.

Starting wage between $30.80/hr. - $34.95/hr. depending on experience.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Must be at least twenty-one (21) years old
  • Have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • At least four (4) years of experience in a rental shop at Big Bear Mountain Resort
  • A talented communicator having a calm and collective demeanor, especially during challenging operations
  • Capacity to read, understand, and comply with documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals
  • Strong leadership skills with proven ability to collaborate with others in management
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and flexibly in a rapidly changing, fast-paced environment
  • Able to use sound reasoning and make competent decisions
  • Must have a valid California Driver's License with an acceptable driving record
  • Able to work a flexible schedule including weekends, and holidays

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Follow all Company and Department Safety Policies and Procedures.
  • Participate in and/or lead training and safety meetings, as well as exhibit the application and retention of all material presented.
  • Demonstrate the ability and willingness to follow verbal and written instructions; as well as further develop professional skills, abilities, and knowledge.
  • Exhibit willingness to perform other duties as assigned or assist in efforts outside of department as needed.
  • Manage seasonal department to attract, retain, and motivate the team; hire, train, develop, empower, coach, counsel, review, resolve problems and discipline when necessary.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, browser-based research tools, Siriusware, UKG, Workday and SharePoint.
  • Work with Director to develop, implement, and maintain departmental procedures and best practices.
  • Interview candidates and ensure that personnel are trained, equipped, and fit to perform their duties.
  • Lead and direct seasonal department to produce maximum efficiency and guest satisfaction.
  • Manage staffing and equipment needs.
  • Accomplishes, personally or through delegation, the daily opening and closing procedures.
  • Performs and oversees daily assignments and keeps the director informed regarding operations and incidents.


WORKING CONDITIONS

Mental strain and fatigue may occasionally be caused by trying to resolve tenant issues, meeting deadlines, and balancing the wants and needs of the departmental staff. Handling emergency situations and working in adverse weather conditions may cause additional mental strain. Physical hazards include walking up and down steep stairways or driving on surfaces that may be wet/frozen and slippery, as well as exposure to fumes, odors, dusts, mists and gases. Physical strain may also be caused by lifting or movement of heavy objects, as well as repetitive fine motor activities.
