Brown and Caldwell is seeking a mid-to-senior level estimating professional that is well-organized, outgoing and ready to grow their career in estimation. The candidate will represent the company as a professional Estimator that will interface with internal and external clients. This position requires well developed experience inclusive of all disciplines including but not limited to architectural, civil, mechanical, structural, plumbing, and HVAC with an emphasis in water/wastewater.

Remote work is allowed.

Primary Duties:

  • Estimate man hours and materials needed to complete Engineers Opinion of Probable Construction Cost (OPCC) and competitively bid both traditional and design-build projects.
  • Provide constructability and value engineering reviews of design documents during all phases of the project.
  • Develop and lead project estimates, with integrated support of other estimating resources.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships throughout the project.
  • Estimate change orders and assist with negotiations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of an Associates degree or technical school certificate.
  • 5 years minimum estimating experience that may include disciplines such as Architectural, Civil, Mechanical and/or Structural estimating, with an emphasis on water/wastewater.
  • Strong ability to understand construction sequencing and develop work break down structures (WBS).
  • Proven ability to work independently under remote supervision with project managers, project design teams and other estimators located in multiple regions of the country.
  • Demonstrated exposure to all aspects of project deliverables.
  • Recent Sage Construction and Real Estate 300 estimating software (formerly Timberline Estimating Software).
  • Understanding of different project delivery methods and estimating based on delivery method.
  • Ability to perform constructability reviews.
  • Willingness to coordinate the objectives of all stakeholders towards a positive outcome.
  • Able to read and interpret CAD drawings and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID's).
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite (primarily Outlook, Word and Excel).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral).
  • Excellent organization, prioritization and time management skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and excel in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BS Engineering or Construction Management preferred.
  • Construction management/Field Engineering experience preferred; managing contractors, driving schedule, sequencing tasks, and understanding construction projects start to finish.
  • Knowledge of water and wastewater plant and process engineering practice preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project Scheduling Software and ability to develop proposal and planning phase construction schedules is highly desirable.

Salary Range: The anticipated starting pay range for this position is based on the employee's primary work location and may be more or less depending upon skills, experience, and education. These ranges may be modified in the future.

Location A:

Salary: $94,000 - $128,000

Location B:

Salary: $103,000 - $141,000

Location C:

Salary: $113,000 - $154,000
