Job Description

Job Summary: The Senior Research Assistant assists in entering and maintaining all documentation and records. Helps prepare scientific presentations on the data. Must demonstrate positive interpersonal relations/good communication skills when dealing with fellow employees, direct supervision, other departments, and outside agencies. Performs other duties as needed.

Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree required. Minimum two years of administrative/clerical experience required; one year research or laboratory experience preferred.

Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of Medical terminology preferred. Proficient computer skills involving word processing, spreadsheet and Windows applications required. Working knowledge of statistical, database and graphic applications preferred. Requires use of computer, copier, fax machine, answering telephones and good digital dexterity. Excellent oral and written communication with health team, patients, and families. Excellent facilitation of English language, to meet expectations of physicians and patients. Must work independently and without direct supervision. Ability to interact positively and professionally with others, communicate clearly, emotional stability requirements, attention to detail, cope with stressful situations. Logical reasoning. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred. Requires adequate visual, hearing and tactile acuity to proficiently perform essential duties. Requires flexibility in work hours for overtime if needed, with advance notice.

Licensures and Certifications: Completion of LLU's educational program on "ethical use of human subjects in research" required within six months of hire.
