We are looking for a versatile and well-rounded mechanical engineering technician with a solid hands-on background in fabrication, testing, and electromechanical components to join our team to help develop next generation cancer fighting products.

In this role, you will be a creative problem solver and have a background in design and fabrication, mechanisms and sensors, and prototype testing. You will also be responsible for lab safety and maintenance. The ideal candidate will be someone who combines a strong and broad skillset with superb practical hands-on attitude and problem solving. This person should have the ability to support multi-disciplinary, cross-functional teams, and work independently to deliver prototypes and test beds for engineering development.

In this role, you will:

  • Collaborate with engineering to conceptualize prototype and test fixture builds
  • Support and lab safety and maintenance.
  • Utilize CAD to design mechanical prototypes and test fixtures that include sensors, actuators, and other electromechanical components
  • Coordinate with machine shops and vendors to quickly produce prototype parts
  • Fabricate mechanical and electrical assemblies using in-house machine tools

What you will have:

  • Typical Education and Experience: Associate Degree or equivalent experience. 3-6 years of related experience.
  • Proficient with SolidWorks and/or Creo
  • Ability to work from and create drawing prints and CAD files
  • Proficient in utilizing business tools such as: E-mail, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong mechanical abilities, assembly and disassembly of components from small precision assemblies to large capital equipment
  • Solid background in fabrication
  • Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting

What will set you apart:

  • Solid background in metal fabrication including machining and turning, sheetmetal, and welding
  • Experience with electrical fabrication including cable assembly, soldering, and wiring
  • Vacuum, high- and low-pressure plumbing experience
  • Design and build reliability test fixtures and safety enclosures
  • Ability to work unsupervised and act as a self-starter
  • Ability to prioritize, multitask, and switch tasks often
  • Automation experience using tools like LabView

The base pay range for this position is

Min $56,000 - Max $95,600

The pay wage range shown is based on the job posting's primary location. Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors, including but not limited to skill set, experience, certifications, and location.
