Join the Snowflake Finance team and help us scale our finance and accounting operations with our rapid growth! We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to support our growing finance team. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, this unique role is responsible for a series of interesting, high visibility projects that can help Snowflake scale as we grow.

This role is based in Dublin, CA at least 3 days per week. This is not a remote position.

AS A SENIOR ACCOUNTANT YOU WILL :
  • For areas of ownership such as internal use software (commonly known as "capitalized software"), participate in monthly, quarterly and annual close related activities including preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and fluxes for income statement and balance sheet
  • Partner with Technical Program/Engineering teams to coordinate collection of information necessary to assess large software development projects for capitalization and calculate capitalized costs
  • Partner with FP&A to support forecast updates and related process improvements
  • Prepare disclosures schedules for the financial filings
  • Participate in and contribute to the financial audit process including preparation of various audit requests and responding to inquiries
  • Prepare schedules, supporting documents, and variance analysis for management
  • Support automation projects and process improvement efforts
  • Communicate issues and resolutions to management and affected areas/departments
  • Coordinate solutions to problems of moderate complexity with other departments and business units
  • Ensure quality and timeliness of deliverables
  • Monitor work for proper internal controls and SOX requirements and recommend improvements
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of new or current accounting systems, programs, and procedures
  • Maintain desktop procedures and manuals
  • Participate in departmental projects and initiatives, working cross-functionally as needed.
  • Other assignments as required
YOU WILL HAVE :
  • BA or BS in accounting or related discipline
  • 5-8+ years finance/accounting experience, audit experience a plus
  • Certified public accountant (CPA) with public accounting experience preferred
  • Experience in Workday Financials a plus
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple work streams simultaneously
  • Have a burning curiosity to ask questions and challenge the status quo
  • Validated skills in Excel, cost analysis preferred
  • Have a natural knack of being self-motivated, lead with strong work ethic, capable of taking initiative, successfully handle and prioritize priorities, and effectively handle deadlines
  • Shown ability to work effectively in a team environment and have strong rapport with the management team and colleagues
  • Work in a fast paced environment, balancing monthly responsibilities and multiple projects
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills, able to work cross-functionally and drive accounting led projects

  • Desire to continuously learn and pick up new areas, the role will continue to evolve so a solid understanding of accounting is key for success

The following represents the expected range of compensation for this role:

  • The estimated base salary range for this role is $101,000 - $136,500.
  • Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in Snowflake's bonus and equity plan.

The successful candidate's starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location.
