Job Description:
For more than 90 years, Specialty Granules LLC has been a leading producer of semi-ceramic coated, colored mineral granules for the North American residential and commercial roofing industry. Our longevity is a testament to our dependability as a supplier and the durability of our products. We have an opening for the Manufacturing Laborer position at our Ione Plant location.

Experience: Previous maintenance experience in an industrial setting required.Knowledge: Demonstrated skill with acetylene and arc weldingAbility to work from service manuals, blueprints, sketches and verbal instructionsAbility to direct workers, provide follow-up and facilitate communication between hourly and salaried personnelAbility to perform basic mathematical operations and statistical charting or other record keeping.Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.Completion of an electrical or mechanical proficiency qualification or apprentice program desired.Essential FunctionDirects personnel in a variety of craft duties involved in constructing, maintaining and repairing plant facilities that includes a wide range of electrical and mechanical equipment. With qualification, provide electrical support services to the site.
Core Competencies
Direct repair crews on jobs, distribute work orders to mechanics, provide supervisor with work/project status and report performance related issues to supervisor
Lead by example consistent with Company policies and procedures, ensuring that safety policies and procedures are met (PPE, etc.)
Support the Maintenance Supervisor's daily activities
Responsible for quality of work and the safe operation of all tools / equipment under his/her control
Responsible for good housekeeping and safety inspection of work area
May be required to perform other duties as assigned
