Job Summary

The Health IT Delivery Portfolio Coordinator's primary responsibility is to develop and manage the backlog and roadmap content to support his/her/their assigned Health IT delivery portfolios, as well as develop and introduce new tools and processes to facilitate improved velocity, adaptability, and scalability related to technology investment and deployment across the health system. This position applies advanced knowledge of business intelligence and organizational practices to lead complex evaluations and discussions. This requires advanced tools and analytics to support strategic planning for technology investment to achieve clinical and operational priorities of the health system. This position works in conjunction with operational, clinical, IT, informatics, and analytics leadership to tee up a review of conflicting priorities, resource allocations, and value propositions to maximize overall value for the organization. This position is responsible for ensuring portfolio tracking tools and Teams site have the most current content and supports the operating model coaches in agenda planning and meeting preparation, execution, and follow-up.

Department Description

Health IT Operations is responsible for Health IT governance, strategy, service delivery, and developing our staff to position Health IT to serve the evolving needs of the health system. This includes facilitating changes in how we make decisions, how we collaborate, and change adoption for Health IT. The Health IT Operations team is primarily responsible for:

  • Supporting UCSF Health leadership in developing and managing the 5-year technology roadmap and financial plan
  • Developing foundational processes that assist with alignment, accountability, and transparency as we integrate the Health IT teams in a changing competitive landscape
  • Developing tools and processes to support how we organize, make decisions, and collaborate as a team and with operations.

The Health IT Operations team will develop and maintain strong delivery content management capabilities to support changes to governance, introduction of role-based teams, and other processes, and ensure high levels of engagement and adoption.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • In-depth knowledge of healthcare technology industry standards and best practices.
  • Ability to understand and utilize concepts from business intelligence, enterprise analytics, and application management to manage integrated information related to healthcare technology delivery.
  • Advanced critical thinking and problem-solving skills to manage highly complex information, assess problems, and develop effective solutions.
  • Advanced organizational and project management skills.
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complex information in a clear, concise manner. Ability to produce and deliver presentations to diverse audiences.
  • Advanced interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with managers, professional and technical staff.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced knowledge and skill in using portfolio management software such as Clarity (MyPPM), collaboration tools such as Jira and Miro, project management methodologies such as agile, lean, and waterfall.
  • Ability to serve as an advanced technical leader providing advice, counsel, and analysis on technology delivery decision-making.
  • EHR certification within the past 5 years
