Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Building Automation Technician with Metasys/BACnet expertise to join our team. This critical role involves supporting the design, installation, programming, troubleshooting, and maintenance of building automation systems utilizing Metasys and BACnet protocols. The ideal candidate should have extensive knowledge of control systems, excellent technical skills, and a strong understanding of HVAC, electrical, and mechanical systems.
Responsibilities:
Design and Installations:
Collaborate with engineering and project teams to design and implement building automation systems using Metasys and BACnet protocols.
Ensure compliance with industry codes, standards, and regulations during system installations.
Programming and Configuration:
Develop customized programs and scripts for building automation systems to meet client requirements.
Configure and integrate various devices, sensors, and equipment within the system.
Perform system diagnostics to identify and troubleshoot programming issues.
Troubleshooting and Maintenance:
Conduct periodic inspections, testing, and calibration of building automation systems.
Diagnose and resolve technical issues in a timely and efficient manner to minimize system downtime.
Collaborate with the operations team to ensure optimal performance of systems and help address any performance degradation or inefficiencies.
Documentation, Monitoring and Reporting:
Monitor, record and dispatch alarms to critical areas and equipment in the GxP environment.
Help maintain detailed documentation of all projects, including system modifications, as-built drawings, and programming changes performed in-house and by vendor.
Generate reports on system performance, maintenance activities, and recommendations for improvements.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (preferred) OR relevant industry certifications along with substantial work experience.
Proven experience working with Metasys and BACnet building automation systems.
Thorough understanding of HVAC, electrical, and mechanical systems in commercial buildings.
Proficient in programming and troubleshooting complex building automation systems.
Strong knowledge of industry codes, standards, and regulations related to building automation.
Excellent problem-solving abilities and analytical skills.
Ability to work independently on assigned tasks and as part of a team.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with clients, engineers, and other stakeholders.
Valid driver's license and ability to travel to client sites as needed.
