We are currently seeking a full-time Senior Proposal Writer. Proposal Writers at Energy Solutions provide essential services as part of our Growth Management and Strategy department. While primarily focusing on proposals, they also research and formulate writing standards and contribute to a wide range of documents in response to both internal and external client requests. Assignments may include creating original content or editing existing materials and draft documents.

Daily responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • As part of a proposal team, write narrative content responsive to Request For Proposal (RFP) requirements, reconcile subject matter expert comments, prepare for copyediting, and finalize the material before the submission deadline. Serve as copyeditor on other staff writer proposals.
  • Draft or edit content for research papers, program reports, proposed regulations, position papers, or product descriptions to support Energy Solutions' business development and project implementation.
  • Help ensure consistent standards and voice throughout Energy Solutions proposals and reports, adhering to company editorial standards.
  • Build content libraries to support writing efforts.
  • Develop a strong understanding of Energy Solutions' products and services to effectively respond to both internal and external client requests for content revision or clarification.
  • Gather industry expertise about services, projects, and business strategy, to inform written work and assist with copyediting, document preparation, and publication.
  • Identify creative ways to visually convey information and collaborate with the Marketing and Creative Services team to develop meaningful graphics.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in science, engineering, business, philosophy, technical writing, journalism, or another writing-focused discipline.
  • A minimum of 8 years' relevant experience, preferably in energy, environment, regulatory, or climate topics.
  • Professional experience writing winning proposals, preferably contributing written content around Energy Efficiency, Distributed Energy Resources, and other technical Demand Side Management content for state, federal, or utility clients.
  • Copy writing and copy-editing experience; familiarity with standards for scientific and academic writing such as grammar, usage, citations, and punctuation and how to use them on projects.
  • Detail-oriented with ability to grasp and succinctly articulate technical information.
  • Proficient in use of digital collaboration tools, specifically Microsoft 365 (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint). Experience with Slack, SharePoint, or Salesforce is a plus.
  • Collaborative style, able to adapt to changing schedules and situations.
  • Strong work ethic, time management, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated success in meeting deadlines and ability to work under high pressure situations.
  • Ability to function effectively both independently and on a team, while working with remote colleagues.
  • A proven professional or personal commitment to the betterment of the environment and the reduction of greenhouse gases is a strong plus.

Salary DOE: $89,000 - $122,000 / Annually

Compensation is commensurate with experience and includes a generous retirement package. Energy Solutions provides an excellent benefits package including medical, dental and vision insurance, other pre-tax contribution plans and an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP).
