Job Summary

This position is being offered as a Limited Appointment opportunity. The position will work for 12 to 18 months based on department needs and grant funding.

The Health Equity Implementation Specialist (HES) will prep the health system for Health Systems Implementation Initiative (HSII) evidenced-based implementation projects with an "equity first" lens by: (1) building out infrastructure to capture equity-related variables in a robust fashion and (2) support the development of a Health Equity Community of Practice including trainings on how to utilize and analyze such data appropriately and incorporate in implementation interventions. The HES will build infrastructure and processes by working with the medical director of health equity to: (i) develop a health equity community of practice for key clinical leaders to learn and develop best practices/competencies for implementing health equity in clinical settings, (ii) provide a more structured platform for knowledge management lifecycle (creation, sharing, harvesting and leveraging), (iii) update department, division, and clinical unit health equity lead on new projects and initiatives to champion the implementation of evidenced-based interventions within the health system, and (iv) solicit feedback from divisions and clinical units on roll-out plans and feasibility of initiatives.

Please note: An offer will take into consideration the experience of the final candidate AND the current salary level of individuals working at UCSF in a similar role.

For roles covered by a bargaining unit agreement, there will be specific rules about where a new hire would be placed on the range.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related area and / or equivalent experience/training.
  • Three (3) years of relevant experience.
  • Strong skills in analyzing, researching, and synthesizing large amounts of data for preparing sound and relevant proposals/analyses.
  • Strong policy analysis techniques.
  • Knowledge of common organization- or research-specific and other computer application programs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to use discretion and maintain all confidentiality.
  • Analytical / problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes.
