Job Description

We have an opening for a Packaging Engineer, Quality based in City of Industry, CA! As a Danone North America Quality Engineer, Packaging, you will help support manufacturing operations by implementing the Danone North America Quality Assurance. The Quality Packaging Engineer is accountable for all plant quality food safety.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Supplier Quality - Troubleshooting all raw and packaging material defects.
  • Providing expertise on raw and packaging material issues.
  • Acting as the liaison between the plant teams and all raw and packaging material vendors.
  • Submitting and tracking all non-conforming raw and packaging materials.
  • Contributing to reach plant wide KPIs and action items as a member of the Plant Quality Team.
  • Supporting the plant industrialization team on trials and new material launches.
  • Leading consumer and customer complaint investigation and follow-up corrective actions for assigned production lines.
  • Implementing Quality initiatives and projects related to systems and procedures
  • Imrovement and maintenance Quality Notification program.
  • Support plant ISO and HACCP initiatives and participate as a member of the Food Safety Team.
  • Support development of quality SOPs and ensure QARs are followed up in Processing area.
  • Perform analysis according to plan of control and document findings, analyze the trends and put together quality action plans.
  • Train the operational teams when needed on quality related topics such as GMP, quick hits and also support the development of quality SOPs and OPL (one point lessons) and ensure that quality action reports are followed up.
  • Lead traceability topic for material balances during Quality audits
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Packaging Engineering, Materials Engineering or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years experience in the dairy/food/beverage manufacturing industry
  • Ability to manage multiple projects of varying priorities simultaneously
  • Packaging equipment experience and technical understanding.
  • Ability to work effectively with others in a team-based environment.
  • Ability to work flexibly (nights, weekends as necessary for coverage).
  • Excellent analytical, trouble shooting, conflict management and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong Computer skills (Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, i.e. Excel, Powerpoint, Word, etc)
  • Strong SAP understanding.
  • Experience with problem solving (6W2H, Fishbone, Why-Why).
  • Attention to detail and passion for helping build a safe work environment.

Desired experience (not required):

  • Dairy experience.
  • Experience working in a union environment.
  • Experience in lean manufacturing methodologies.

The base compensation range for this position is $79,000K - $95,000K commensurate with experience.
