The salary range for this role is:

$34.00 - $34.00

Responsibilities:

  • Programming and Development:
    • Writing, testing, and debugging code for industrial automation systems. This might involve languages like ladder logic, structured text, function block diagrams, or even higher-level programming languages like Python for more advanced systems.
      Developing software applications for human-machine interfaces (HMIs) and supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems.

  • System Integration:
    • Integrating various hardware components such as programmable logic controllers (PLCs), sensors, actuators, motors, and other industrial devices into a cohesive automated system.
    • Ensuring seamless communication between different components using industrial communication protocols like Modbus, Ethernet/IP, OPC UA, etc.
    • Rockwell Software (RSLogix Family, PanelViews, etc.) and Ignition (Inductive Automation) are the main software packages for SCADA.
  • Troubleshooting and Maintenance:
    • Diagnosing and resolving issues with automation systems, including identifying faults in code, hardware malfunctions, and network communication problems.
    • Performing regular maintenance tasks to ensure the smooth operation of automation systems, including updates, backups, and hardware checks.
  • Project Planning and Design:
    • Collaborating with engineers and other stakeholders to design and plan automation projects, including defining system requirements, architecture, and scope.
    • Translating functional requirements into technical specifications for the automation system.
  • Testing and Validation:
    • Conducting testing and validation procedures to ensure that the automation system meets the desired functionality and performance criteria.
      Simulating real-world scenarios to verify the system's behavior under different conditions.

  • Documentation:
    • Creating and maintaining detailed documentation of the programming code, system architecture, and any modifications made to the automation system.
      Writing user manuals and guides to help operators and maintenance personnel understand the system's operation and troubleshooting procedures.

  • Collaboration:
    • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, technicians, project managers, internal/external clients, and contractors, to ensure the successful implementation of automation projects.
    • Participating in meetings to discuss project progress, challenges, and solutions.
  • Continuous Learning:
    • Staying updated on the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in the field of industrial automation and programming.
    • Learning about new hardware, software platforms, and programming languages to improve skills and capabilities.
  • Emergency Response:
    • Being available for quick response and support in case of unexpected system failures or emergencies that require immediate attention.
  • Other duties will as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of electrical/control systems experience.
  • Certified PLC Programmer
  • Read blueprints, P&IDs, P&FD, and line diagrams.
  • Analyze technical data, engineering test data, designs, or preliminary user specifications for project development.
    Estimate cost for engineering projects.
  • Statistical Analysis and specific knowledge of SPC (Statistical Process Control)
  • Troubleshoot electronics in industrial/manufacturing environments, Food & Beverage, and/or GMP facilities preferred.
  • Inductive Automation Ignition knowledge is a plus.
  • iFix, Wonderware, FactoryTalk for PanelView is a plus.
  • Knowledge of VBA, Python, Ethernet networks, and industrial protocols is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of legacy control networks Remote I/O, Data Highway, ControlNet, DeviceNet, and newer protocols such as Ethernet/IP.
  • Ability to configure, troubleshoot, and repair Microsoft Operating Systems, demonstrate experience with electrical troubleshooting.
  • Experience programming and troubleshooting automated equipment using different industrial automation IDEs (Integrated Development Environment), Rockwell Automation preferred
