Job Description

The Service Line Operations Specialist is a key resource in driving improvement in the service line. The service line operations specialist will apply Lean improvement principles to drive quality, service, cost, and provider experience performance. Identifies and initiates quality improvement, and ensures internal and external regulatory compliance within service line and external stakeholders. The Service Line Operations Specialist under the direction of the Executive or Sr. Director, supports operations as needed in a manner consistent with overall hospital strategies and policies and procedures and is responsible for the most effective use of materials, personnel, and resources to produce quality results and positive outcomes in patient care. Collaborates with physicians, clinical leadership, and other internal and external departmental staff in planning and implementing operational changes.

Key Responsibilities include:

Use Lean and other improvement methodologies to improve service line operational processes and structure to improve patient care, provider workflow and satisfaction, and promote service line growth

Employ project management methods to manage improvement processes through standard development/execution

Uses change management method to engage department leaders, staff, and providers and to ensure the area is prepared for change before a test of change is trialed

Track and analyze results; presents information in a concise manner with dashboards and other visual tools

Improve patient quality outcomes, patient experience, provider experience, volume and reduce cost

Participate in strategic planning to improve services offered and promote growth

Supports implementation of new program initiatives using effective project and change management methods and excellent communication

Administrative lead for special programs and develops business and operational plans to forecast growth/revenue potential

Oversees operational areas as assigned

Develops leader, provider, and staff improvement engagement and capability/skills

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree in public health or healthcare administration is preferred.

Minimum of two (2) years of performance improvement and project management experience

Healthcare experience with healthcare leader, staff, and provider relations

Proven analytic and strategic planning capabilities

Knowledge hospital operations and strategy.

Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Epic.

Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ability to do data analysis, report writing, and update/change/make project plans.

Ability to act as both a thought leader and operational expert around process and system transformation.

Ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels and in situations requiring training, coaching, persuading, negotiating, conflict resolution, consulting and advising.

Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with widely diverse groups, including individuals at all levels both within and outside the organization and to gain their cooperation.

Ability to manage multiple changing priorities and work effectively in a team or independent setting.

Qualifications specific to Urology:

Knowledge surgical growth operations.

Salary Range:

$41.83 - $62.75 USD Hourly
