Who We Need

Sabel Systems is seeking an Atlassian Developer to implement custom Jira/Confluence solutions for a large Space Force engagement located at LA AFB in El Segundo, CA. This in-person, local area position, requires an experienced Atlassian Developer that will be working directly with customers and a high-end Digital Engineering Solutions technical team. The Atlassian Developer will help the team configure Jira, Confluence, and potentially Jira Service Management to provide customized, unique solutions for our Space Systems Command customer. This position will be responsible for building custom automated Jira workflows and custom Confluence dashboards to capture and display data. You will work with the customer to elicit requirements and workflows and turn those into automated and semi-automated processes in Jira or Confluence.

The Atlassian Developer must have an expert understanding of Atlassian products including Jira, Confluence, and Jira Service Management. You should be a skilled user of the Microsoft Office suite with special focus on MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint. In this position you will work closely with highly technical operations and will decipher customer requirements based on their inputs. You will use coding skills such as JQL, SQL, and HTML to build custom products. Experience building Atlassian plug-ins/applications is a plus. The ability to work with Java and Java Script will be helpful.

The Atlassian Developer will require excellent interpersonal skills to work with team members, work through varying opinions on the way to create complex workflows and dashboards and support iterative evolution of products.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate directly with customer to understand their data collection, process flows, and reporting requirements
• Expertly operate Jira and Confluence
• Configure Jira and Confluence to provide specific outcomes as desired by the customer
• Build Automated Process Workflows
• Code in JQL, SQL, and HTML to build custom products
• Track projects in Jira and upload and maintain documentation in Confluence
• Build dashboards and performance metrics for customer leadership based on Jira data
• Other duties as assigned, which may include but are not limited to:

• Researching a subject independent of a SME
• Creating training materials i.e. videos, ppt, PDF.
• User test instructions provided by team or customer.
• Delivering training to coworkers and/or clients on custom product builds.

• US Citizen
• Strong spoken and written English skills
• Certified Atlassian Developer
• Jira Expert
• Confluence Expert

• Strong experience customizing Jira and Confluence to provide specific outcomes, processes, metrics/visualizations, and dashboards
• JQL, SQL, HTML expert
• MS Office User
• Jira Service Management Expert - desired, not required
• Ability to telework with clear phone and internet connectivity.
• Ability to obtain minimum of secret level security clearance, will upgrade to TS.
• Ability to travel up to 10% of the time

Desired

• Bachelor's Degree with 3 - 5 years' experience
• DoD knowledge / experience
• Working knowledge or better of CSS, Java, and Python
• High-level understanding of technology (networking, software installation)
• Experience with agile practices
• Proven adaptability in high-stress situations
