Santa Barbara Infrared is looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to be part of the Electrical Engineering Team. The Senior Electrical Engineer will play a key role on next generation product design and will provide support for existing products. The successful candidate will have excellent problem-solving skills and an expertise in digital & analog electrical design along with embedded systems and embedded software design experience. The position is on-site and based in Santa Barbara, California.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop embedded mixed-signal electrical solutions, by:
    • Executing electrical circuit design
    • Writing embedded firmware
    • Architecting and leading product test programs
    • Conducting PCB layout
    • Performing initial board bring-up and testing
  • Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to define new designs and define electrical requirements.
  • Participate in design reviews for electrical designs and product level designs
  • Generate concepts and provide effort estimates used for new sales opportunities
  • Provide support to vendors & contractors through all the stages of design development and prototype procurement
  • Provide sustaining engineering to existing products and designs

Requirements:

  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering
  • 5 to 7 years of experience in embedded design and the development of new products and solutions
  • Altium schematic capture and layout experience desired
  • Ability to work independently in a small company environment

Pre-employment verifications: must pass background, reference and ITAR/EAR checks in addition to a pre-employment drug screen.
