Role summary: Demonstrates full knowledge in assigned area and is an experienced sole contributor. Conducts quantitative and qualitative analyses for Capital's Fixed Income funds, indices and peer group for senior leadership to aid decision making in fund investment policy, structuring and administration. Provides independent, rigorous analysis to inform portfolio construction decisions and highlight major risk positions within Capital's Fixed Income and multi-asset portfolios. Develops and enhances the framework for risk management monitoring and reporting processes. Proactively thinks outside of the box and identifies new ways to evaluate risk.

"In this role you will"
  • You support senior portfolio managers on the Investment Coordinating Group (ICG), Portfolio Strategy Group (PSG), and ESG committees as a primary RQS associate.
    • You present fixed income risk, fund level returns/attribution, and strategy themes across a diverse set of investment strategies at monthly reviews.
    • You assist PSG biannual meeting with analytic materials and track PSG model portfolio on weekly basis.
    • You help ESG initiatives within CFII by assessing internal methodology and impact assessment on current portfolios. Works with portfolio managers and sales groups concerning Article 8 and Article 9 transitions within funds.
  • You conduct quantitative and qualitative risk analyses for portfolios.
    • You communicate ideas and recommendations to Portfolio Managers to influence portfolio construction decisions.
    • You advise Portfolio Managers on the risk characteristics of their portfolios.
    • You proactively conducts portfolio reviews to identify key risks in portfolios.
    • You preform quantitative analyses and provides recommendations to help formulate internal portfolio risk guidelines.


  • You develop and enhances the framework for risk management monitoring and reporting processes. Proactively thinks outside of the box and identifies new ways to evaluate risk.
    • You develop risk methodology and scenario analysis capabilities to enhance risk assessment in Fixed Income portfolios.
    • You develop top down and bottom up portfolio risk reports to identify and monitor the major risks in portfolios.
    • You perform quantitative analyses and provides recommendations to develop system solutions required for client, internal and regulatory risk analysis.

  • You demonstrate ability to collaborate and develop/maintain working relationships inside and outside the organization to enable effective completion of business objectives.
  • You demonstrate knowledge broad global fixed income asset classes and funds.
  • You demonstrate knowledge of risk management, technology skillsets, and technical capabilities.
  • You demonstrate working knowledge of Excel, Python or R, as well as familiarity with Bloomberg.
  • You demonstrate sound judgment in resolving complex matters.
  • You have 4+ year experience in risk management, portfolio analysis, performance analysis or other relevant experience in fixed income.
  • You have any advanced degrees such as MFE, MBA or other STEM fields preferred.
  • You have experience with municipal fixed income a plus.


Southern California Base Salary Range: $131,596-$210,554

In addition to a highly competitive base salary, per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting requirements, you also will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital's annual profitability bonus plus a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
