Overview

Come join a team of highly talented and experienced individuals as a product engineer focused on the Land Records/Cadastre industry. Parcels are a foundational dataset used to secure land rights, taxation, and resource management. Apply your knowledge, creativity, and analytical skills to design, test, and deploy the new parcel fabric capabilities. The parcel fabric is designed to work on the ArcGIS Pro desktop client, web browsers as well as in the field on mobile devices.

As a product engineer, you provide a strong technical voice in the product development process and use the best methodologies available to design, test, document, and present to the community. You will be part of a team that ships exciting new capabilities to thousands of customers and will demonstrate how to use the new capabilities and communicate feedback to your colleagues to further enhance the software.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with software developers, product engineers, and other cross-functional teams to design, build, and deliver new ArcGIS Parcel Fabric capabilities
  • Work with customers, business partners, and industry experts to identify user requirements and workflows
  • Test, release, and support ArcGIS Parcel Fabric functionality to enhance overall product quality
  • Perform troubleshooting to resolve software defects
  • Present, educate, and learn from the vast parcel fabric community
  • Innovate and automate using scripting languages
  • Create compelling product examples, blogs, articles, documentation, and tutorials to showcase new features
  • Prepare and present demonstrations, talks, and workshops for conferences

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in land record, cadastre, or land surveying
  • Coding capabilities using any language (Python, C#, C++, or other)
  • Effective time management and organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and creative thinking skills
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with others
  • Bachelor's degree in surveying, geodesy or geomatics, or related field of study

Recommended Qualifications

  • Knowledge of ArcGIS software
  • Applied experience in designing, developing, and/or implementing software solutions in the land records or cadastre industry
  • Understanding of the Agile software development life cycle
  • Proven ability to build and deliver quality software in a team environment
  • Knowledge of least squares adjustment (LSA)
  • Familiarity with CAD software
  • Experience with Land Surveying and/or working with GNSS technology
  • Familiarity using the Public Land Survey System (PLSS)
  • Knowledge of land administration systems, fit for purpose, LADM
  • Master's degree in surveying, geodesy or geomatics, or related field of study

Compensation decisions and the base range for this role take into account many factors including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.

A reasonable estimate of the base salary range is
$72,800$124,800 USD
