JOB DESCRIPTION

2-Year Analyst - Portfolio Analysis Group, Municipal & Separately Managed Accounts
The Analyst will act as a liaison between the Strategic Accounts, Investment Research, and Portfolio Management teams to address client questions, provide solutions to requests, and support in the expansion of existing and new business for the firm. The Portfolio Analysis Group is a key contributor to business growth, as its analytical support acts as an engine that drives the efficiency and effectiveness of the internal business groups. The Portfolio Analysis Group's 2-Year Analyst Program is a structured training program that provides the analyst with a strong foundation in fixed income (particularly in municipals), the Separately Managed Account (SMA) platform, and the investment management industry, as well as in mentorship and skills development. Upon completion of the 2-year program, analysts are considered for promotion and advancement within the group and/or related opportunities within the firm.

RESPONSIBILITIES
The breadth and diversity of the analytical projects in this role requires motivated team members who thrive in a fast-paced environment. Successful professionals should be able to complete complex tasks in a timely manner, while managing multiple assignments simultaneously. Examples of such tasks and assignments include the following:

  • Providing critical support to Strategic Accounts through various tasks, including (but not limited to): portfolio analyses, portfolio proposals, performance reviews, client update presentations, case studies, market analysis, RFIs, and DDQs
  • Partnering with team members across multiple business areas at the firm, in order to respond to client questions, occasionally engage clients directly, and generally bridge the gap between client requests and Portfolio Management
  • Gaining exposure to investment implementation, with direct exposure to Portfolio Management
  • Producing technical analyses and customized solutions for existing and prospective clients, often in collaboration with Investment Research
  • Contributing to weekly and monthly market and strategy updates, as well as periodic investor updates
  • Ensuring the firm continues to deliver excellent customer service, both directly and indirectly, by providing the client facing teams with the materials and support they need to do their jobs effectively and efficiently

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited 4-year institution with minimum 3.2 cumulative collegiate grade point average, on a 4.0 scale or the equivalent
  • 0-3 years' experience with a genuine curiosity for investing, economics, and markets, with interest in fixed income being a plus
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills
  • Able to handle multiple assignments simultaneously, while maintaining attention to detail
  • Self-motivated, ethical, and capable of building strong relationships
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written
  • Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment
  • Take and pass required FINRA licensing exams within first year of employment
  • Coding experience is a plus

PIMCO follows a total compensation approach when rewarding employees which includes a base salary and a discretionary bonus. Base salary is the fixed component of compensation that is determined by core job responsibilities, relevant experience, internal level, and market factors. The discretionary bonus is used to award performance and therefore is determined by company, business, team, and individual performance.


Salary Range: $ 75,000.00 - $ 81,000.00
