Under direction, the incumbent performs the highest level of surgical technologist duties utilizing specialized knowledge acquired through formal training. In addition to performing the duties of the Sr Surgical Tech, the incumbent serves in a lead/subject matter expert capacity providing support to all specialty surgical areas within Perioperative Services. Duties include verification of specialty equipment and inventory, contacting surgeons concerning equipment and supply needs for complex cases, communicating with related buyers, vendors, and other staff concerning their service, contacting surgical supply companies and their vendors about malfunctioning or broken equipment, and providing continuing education in-service to staff.
Assists the Clinical Coordinator with service related activities and identifying opportunities to streamline the operations relative to the surgical tech role. Functions as a preceptor, mentor and resource to new staff and other scrub personnel. Performs other related duties as required.
These five (5) Principal Surgical Tech openings will be located in the following locations -- JMC - General Services, JMC - Thoracic Services, JMC- Urology Services, JMC - Neuro and JMC - Plastics. Annual Full Pay Range: $83,771 - $104,191 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $40.12 - $49.90
