Job Description

Position Summary The primary purpose of this position is to lead and support the Accounting Operations of the Company. Responsibilities include managing all aspects of the Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Payroll departments, and responsible for the GL where those areas reach. Work with the Controller to run the day to day operations of the accounting department. The individual in this role is expected to maintain and enforce corporate accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with GAAP; ensure the integrity of Living Spaces financial data and reporting; focus on continuous improvement and development of the accounting staff.

Position Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Manage AP, AR, Cash Receipts and Payroll Departments
  • Establish and analyze key performance metrics to monitor and manage their departments.
  • Maintain accounting policies and procedures and initiate process improvements were needed
  • Work with Controller to ensure that the monthly close process is performed in a timely manner and the company's financial statements are in compliance with US GAAP
  • Monthly financial statement and balance sheet review
  • Maintain financial staff by recruiting, selecting, mentoring and training employees
  • Partner with the FP&A department to manage actual to budget variance analysis and initiating corrective actions if necessary.
  • Oversee monthly, year-end financial close process
  • Develop departmental desk procedures and ensure each department is adequately trained and staffed to meet the present and future needs
  • Assist in the preparation of statutory reporting requirements
  • Partner to assist with the interim and annual audit requirements, including other outside compliance audits, and tax return preparation

Qualifications

Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree (B. A. or B. S.) or equivalent from four-year college in Accounting or Finance. MBA in Accounting/Finance is preferred. 8 years of progressive accounting experience. Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual must have strong system skills including experience with a large ERP system such as Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle or SAP. Excellent PC skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word are required.

Certificates and Licenses: None required. CPA is preferred.

Position Hiring Range

The hiring pay range provides a guide for what we would reasonably pay for the position. Pay will be determined by several factors, including but not limited to: applicant's education, relevant work experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with geographic market data. Living Spaces reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. Pay is determined by various factors including market demand, applicable skills, work experience and education, location, company budget, and in-demand skill sets.

Compensation: $126,000.00 - $168,000.00

Retail, Guest Services, and Distribution Center Team Members are eligible to receive team bonus based on meeting specific goals and KPI's.
