ABOUT THE ROLE

The Proposal Manager holds a key position within Accela's RFP team. In this role, you will manage and craft competitive proposals that bolster the Sales team, guiding them from the project's inception to its final submission. Your primary duties involve providing strategic input to pursuit strategies and closely collaborating with the response team to produce compelling, client-oriented proposals. Additionally, you will actively engage with multiple company departments, enriching and refining proposal content to ensure its development and enhancement.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Compile and develop compelling, professional, and customized proposals in response to SaaS/Security Questionnaires, RFIs, and RFPs.
  • Navigate substantial and strategic RFx situations that require an understanding of proposal management methods and techniques to obtain successful results.
  • Recommend pursuit strategies and gain insights for proposals.
  • Coordinate response teams (SEs, Sales, Professional Services, etc.) to make sure they are clear on assignments and collaborate to maximize proposal impact. Lead reviews and develop win themes with Sales Representative.
  • Coach response team on RFP and RFI best practices.
  • Maintain compliance with RFP and RFI guidelines and timelines.
  • Review and edit peer proposals.
  • Engage with Subject Matter Experts in updating Product, Product Marketing, Cloud Ops, and Security to keep proposals current and compelling.
  • Review Qvidian proposal content updates.
  • Identify content to add to Qvidian post-submittal.
  • Lead in the execution and management of continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Set meetings where appropriate and assigns accountability and ownership.
  • Exercise independent judgment with minimal support.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree.
  • Previous RFP and/or RFI experience is required.
  • Knowledge of local/state government business processes.
  • Demonstrated experience and ability effectively collaborating with and influencing teams and functioning as an individual contributor, which includes creating and tracking assignments, scheduling and managing meetings and executing deadlines.
  • Well organized and a self-starter, ability to work independently but also collaboratively with Sales, Product, Legal, and Solution Architects/Engineers.
  • Excellent MS office skills.
  • Experience with Qvidian or other proposal automation software tools.
  • Excellent oral, written, and visual communication skills, including editing and proofreading abilities.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Familiarity with public-sector RFPs
  • Prior experience with Upland Qvidian software.
  • APMP or similar project management certification

The base pay range for this position is $80,000-$100,000/year. The base pay offered may vary depending on factors such as the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
