Senior Technical Advisor (Networks Lead)
This position is Contingent Upon Contract Funding
Purpose:
  • Valkyrie Enterprises is seeking a Senior Technical Advisor (Networks Lead) to support Naval Information Warfare Commands (NAVWAR) Fleet Readiness Directorate (FRD) to lead the C4ISR network technical work of Fleet Systems Engineering Team contractor support on San Diego, CA .
  • The mission of the FSET program is to facilitate effective operation of all NAVWAR afloat and ashore C4ISR systems throughout Operational Fleet Readiness Plan Cycle. This program also provides systems engineering and technical support for the rapid introduction of new capabilities into the fleet though fleet experimentation and operational fleet exercises
Job Description:
  • Lead all Network (Afloat and Ashore) contractor support related to the FSET Program.
  • Support/oversee/monitor FSET technical actions and job responsibilities in these specific technical areas:
    • Network Operation Center (NOC) support
    • Naval Telecommunications Area Master Stations (NCTAMS) and Naval Computer and Telecommunication Stations (NCTS) support
    • Provide Fleet and NAVWAR Enterprise Customers with support of the Next Generation Enterprise Networks (NGEN) and applications as directed by the government.
    • Provide Fleet and NAVWAR Enterprise Customers with support of ONE-NET networks and applications as requested by the government
    • Provide ashore support for systems supporting MOCs and in specified intelligence centers
    • Maritime Operation Center (MOC) Production Engineering and Integration support
    • Maritime Operation Center (MOC) Design Engineering support
Combined Enterprise Regional Information Exchange System (CENTRIXS) Engineering
  • Assist the customer with design, detailed installation planning, testing and accreditation for new capabilities that require accelerated introduction of program of record systems, or application of commercial technology to support an emergent Fleet requirement.
  • Network planning, design and documentation of enterprise architectures for current and future Navy networks.
  • Producing designs that support information sharing, integration and interoperability between deployed and Navy/DoD supporting establishment networks.
  • Technical expertise in support of resolving Tier TWO and THREE level network problems.
Qualifications:
  • Must have a Master's Degree in Information Technology or Master's Degree in Network Management or Masters of Science in Computer Networking or a relevant degree and at least 12 years of experience.
  • Relevant experience with design, implementation, and maintenance of complex network architectures (including software and common network devices).
  • Relevant experience with Open Systems Interconnection modeling (layers 1-7).
  • Working knowledge of virtualization and cloud technologies.
  • Ability to be deploy in support Navy operational requirements, Navy exercises and implementation of Navy Speed to Capability special projects.
  • Demonstrated network management experience relevant to the scope of system level networking requirements of:
    • Navy Afloat (Ship) Technical Network Services
    • Navy Ashore Technical Network Services
    • Afloat & Ashore Combined Enterprise Regional Information Exchange System (CENTRIXS) Engineering
    • Speed to Capability Support
    • Enterprise Architecture Definition, Documentation, and Planning
  • Demonstrated experience with some of the following:
    • USQ-144/202 ADNS
    • USQ-148 SCI NTWK/JWICS
    • USQ-153/185 CENTRIXS
    • USQ-153 ISNS NIPR & SIPR
    • VRAM
    • WSUS
    • USQ-177 SubLAN
    • USQ-208 CANES
    • USQ-171 VIXS/TACVTC
    • NIAPS HW
    • PC NET work
    • Routers (CISCO)
    • XYLAN or ALCATEL Switches
    • TSCE (LCS-2 class)
Desired Qualifications:
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNA)
  • Cisco Certified Design Associate (CCDA)
Security Requirements
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD TOP SECRET/SCI clearance (i.e. must hold a current Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) that has been adjudicated to Intelligence Community Directive (ICD) -704 standards within five years).
  • Hold a valid US Passport
Travel Requirements:
  • Up to 50%
  • If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID. Pay Range: $155,000 - $225,000 per year
