Street Level Ministries is an outreach ministry of Stockton Corps. It is a weekly urban outreach - primarily to the homeless in San Joaquin Valley.

SCOPE OF POSITION:

The Purpose of this position Is to provide coordination of the Stockton Corps Outreach and Social Services programs. To assist the outreach and commanding officer programs. It will also serve in an outreach capacity to broaden the scope and service of the Corps current programs and act as a liaison between the Corps, other organizations, and the community. The goal and is to incorporate the ministry of the Adult Rehabilitation Center and the Corps in this community. The OES will regularly visit vehicle residents at their parking sites, working with individual clients to identify and overcome barriers to housing, and refer these households to other resources in the community (mainstream services, benefit services, food assistance programs, childcare resources, etc.).

  1. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Maintain weekly contact with clients while they are working on their housing assessment and housing readiness plan.
  2. Aids and intensive housing assistance including all or part of a comprehensive assessment, case management, service authorization, information, and referral necessary for adults to develop and pursue an effective and mutually agreed upon housing plan.
  3. Participates in unit staff meetings and in in applicable training as assigned.
  4. Performs other administrative and operational functions as requested.
  5. Assist the Outreach and Community Engagement and interns.
  6. Establish relationships with other organizations in the community.
  7. Attending community meeting related to outreach for homelessness.
  8. Maintain and assist with the cleanliness around the building.
  9. Vehicles maintenances

Ministry Corps and ARC (Adult Rehabilitation Center)

  1. Attend weekly meetings at the ARC
  2. Lead bibles study at the Corps and ARC
  3. Attend monthly meetings with Corps officer
  4. Men's Fellowship assisting CO officer
  5. Responsible for facilitating other programs at the Corps men's fellowship, recovery groups, celebrate recovery, etc.

Outreach

  13. Ability and willingness to understand and fully comply with mandatory reporting requirements and laws pertaining to vulnerable adults and children.

  1. Certificates, Licenses, and Registration:
  2. Must possess a valid California Class C License
  3. Must be 21 years or older
  4. Complete The Salvation Army vehicle course training.

  1. SOFTWARE-RELATED SKILLS:

  1. Expertise in Microsoft Word and Excel required
  2. Demonstrates expertise in web resources and navigation
  3. Lotus Notes, Outlook - helpful

  1. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  1. This position is primarily sedentary and requires the ability to remain at a desk for periods of up to two hours with minimal interruption.
  2. Ability to operate a keyboard is essential.
  3. Ability to operate under busy working conditions in a rapidly changing work environment with multiple priorities is required.
  4. The employees must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
