Position Description

Primary Purpose and Essential Functions
The successful instructional faculty candidate will be part of a highly motivated, cohesive faculty of experienced educators working as an interdisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive PA curriculum preparing students to practice in a variety of clinical settings. The successful candidate will work in collaboration with other PA faculty members within the program to provide expertise and contribute to a collaborative working environment. This position will report directly to the Program Director.

Minimum Qualifications
The following qualifications are essential:
  • Graduate from an ARC-PA accredited PA program.
  • Master's degree in PA studies or other discipline.
  • Current NCCPA certification, state licensure in California (or eligible for state license).
  • Minimum of six (6) months of clinical experience as a Physician Assistant.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills, specifically MS Office Suite Programs(i.e. Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and MS Outlook.
  • Ability to work as a team with administrators, fellow faculty, staff, and students.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Academic experience in Physician Assistant Education.

  • Involvement or desire to be involved in professional organizations within the field of specialty.

GENERAL: Faculty should have sufficient motor function to execute movementsessential to providing patient care.

SPECIFIC: Must possess the motor skills to perform palpation, percussion, auscultation and other diagnostic maneuvers, basic laboratory tests, and diagnostic procedures in a timely manner. Such actions require coordination of gross and fine muscular movements, equilibrium, and functional uses of the senses of touch and vision.

SPECIFIC: Must be able to perform basic life support including CPR.

Work Environment/Work Week/Travel:
This position is for a part-time, teacher-clinician; half to one (0.5 - 1.0) day per week, forty eight (48) weeks per year.
Hiring Range $55 - $65 per hour. We consider factors such as, but not limited to, scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's qualifications, internal equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
