Electrical Engineer

This position is Contingent Upon Contract Award

Purpose:

Valkyrie Enterprises is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support the Underway Replenishment Division at Naval Surface Warfare Center Port Hueneme Division.

Job Description:

Develop and refine concepts for new systems and processes to advance naval logistics capability and improve system readiness.
Develop, revise, and provide 3-D models and engineering drawings for naval replenishment systems
Develop and aid in the development of documentation in support of analyses of alternatives of new UNREP systems and equipment concepts
Support Test and Evaluation Services.
Provide In-Service Engineering support of Naval Replenishment Systems and Processes.
Perform failure analysis.
Provide engineering support to update UNREP system technology in order to solve part obsolescence problems.
Develop 3-D models, develop engineering drawings, and support the fabrication of test equipment.

Qualifications:

Must have a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in engineering and at least 5 years of experience OR a High school diploma and 15 years of experience performing electrical engineering duties.
Must have at least 5 years of experience in electrical system design with at least 3 years of specific experience in designing shipboard systems using Variable Frequency Drives (VFD) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) for the US Navy or vessels governed by the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) and at least 2 years of specific experience in designing systems for Electro-Magnetic Interference (EMI) as well as experience in testing for EMI.

Desired Qualifications:

Prefer At least 10 years of experience in electrical system design with at least 5 years of specific experience in designing shipboard systems using Variable Frequency Drives (VFD) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) for the US Navy or vessels governed by the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) and 3 years of specific experience in designing systems for Electro-Magnetic Interference (EMI) as well as experience in testing for EMI.
Masters degree from an accredited university in Engineering.

Security Requirements:

Must have an Active DoD Secret security clearance or clearance in interim.
Must have the ability to gain access to private and public shipyards and Naval installations.

Travel Requirements:

Occasional travel- Up to 10%
If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (no later than position start date) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID. Physical Requirements:

Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
Communicating with others to exchange information.

Light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds.

Pay Range: $120,000 - $145,000 per year
