The Vision Care franchise is focused in the areas of: Myopia, Hyperopia, Astigmatism, and Presbyopia with products such as Contact Lenses, Lens Care Solutions and Dry Eye Solutions. Alcon is seeking a Category Development Manager to work with 7-9 Alcon Account Managers within an assigned District by partnering with Eye Care Practitioners (ECPs) to achieve their goals in key vision care categories. Focus areas for this role may include presbyopia, cosmetic contact lenses, dry eye, as well as driving a novel digital business innovation. Responsibilities include:

• Increase sales, generate profit and exceed annual corporate and District financial objectives by focusing on practice building and execution.

• Responsibilities to include in-office trainings, execution of dinner meetings, enhancing executional excellence and promoting Alcon products and services.

• You will align with Alcon Account Managers and customers, using a consultative sales approach, to match Alcon products and services to doctor and patient needs.

• Qualifying and prioritizing leads generated from aligned Account Managers in order to further promote, install, train, and embed a novel digital business innovation for ECPs and their patients.

• Work with the District to capitalize on revenue from the highest potential customers in specific categories that are driving the Vision Care market.

• Work with Alcon Account Managers and District Managers to identify highest potential customers to grow specific categories of business within the Vision Care product portfolio.

• Strategically manage prioritization of time and resource allocation at the district level to maximize targeting impact and ROI for new technology launches across all territories

• Plan and execute pre-booked calls to be executed 3-4 days/week.

• Grow sales by shifting customer behaviors and driving ECP/practice change initiatives

• Promote, install and maintain new digital health solutions with identified practices

• Execute marketing activities and promotions in order to maximize sales.

• Through Collaboration, Planning and Prioritization; develop a highly structured District plan and strategy to increase market and category development and grow sales, while demonstrating effective ability to hold others accountable for team results without direct authority

• Work directly with Optometry Schools, where applicable, to educate and promote Alcon products with future Optometrists.

• Participate in and network with customers at conventions, educational events, etc.

• Schedule and execute in-office trainings and dinner meetings.

• Participate in District/Regional/National meetings.

• Manage and prioritize time in order to most effectively achieve business results.

• Administrative responsibilities; including completion of expense reports, email/voicemail communications, call reporting, event planning and strategic planning.

Minimum requirements :

• Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +10yrs; Assoc.+6yrs; M.S. 0yrs)

• The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English

• 2 Years of Relevant Experience

The ideal candidate will reside in the Sacramento California area. This territory covers parts of Northern California, Northern Nevada, Northern Utah, Idaho and Eastern Washington. It is estimated to require 4-5 overnights a month.
